You may start seeing quite a few James Patterson book reviews popping up on my blog over the coming months...I came into possession of a mega selection from my mum who was doing a cull within her bookshelves. I, of course, was rewarded with the offcuts. After discovering that my mother dearest seems to have an aversion to reading complete character series, I also (again, of course) was obliged to top them up with

I was absolutely delighted when I was selected as one of the lucky readers who received an advance reader copy of this book, which is released on the 31st of October 2024 (Happy Halloween!!). Being in the amazing position of being sent and being asked to read and review books is a perk of

The third stage of my LOTR journey (The Hobbit and The Fellowship of the Ring being parts one and two). I picked this up from the library the week after I finished The Fellowship of the Ring but did hit pause to read a few more pacy palette cleansers before cracking this one open. I was captivated by the story but had found the pace and cadence tricky to get into, so I hoped this one would be easier to immerse myself in!

As you know, thrillers (particularly psychological ones) are my comfort genre. Strange, perhaps, but these are books that feel familiar, snappy, and engaging. The good ones get my heart going, my emotions creeping into my throat, and I love getting my teeth into a new thriller.

I had seen someone post about this book on Instagram, mentioning it as one of the books that they simply do not accept criticism on and, while you may think I am a little strange, I enjoy reading books that show people dealing with trauma, being vulnerable, coping (or not) and that generally explore the

This was another audiobook gem that I found when browsing, I was looking for something with a bit of meat to it, as I was going to be doing quite a few slightly longer commutes, so needed something to keep me company in the car. It's about 9 hours long so was pretty much spot on the driving time for the week. Fate!

This author was suggested to me on Instagram, I'd never read any of their books before but love to get new recommendations and find new authors and stories to enjoy!

There was alot of books to choose from and this is one of those book selections that I can't quite explain! I effectively played eeny meeny miny moe. It's not a particularly specific way of making a selection but it can be effective when there's too much choice. I didn't read the blurb, just the tagline

As a mood reader, sometimes I have unexplainable needs to read a book in a certain genre. I default to thrillers as my comfort genre but can often find myself inexplicably drawn away from my usual preferences. This is what happened here. I had an uncontrollable urge to read a horror book, I wanted to be scared! I don't have any horrors on my TBR so my Kindle Unlimited list was required to help me on
